Calcite

Calcite is a colorless to white or variously tinted carbonate mineral valued for its decorative use, often noted for its strong double refraction and rhombohedral crystals. It belongs to the carbonate mineral group and is one of the most common minerals, forming in sedimentary, metamorphic, and igneous environments. Spiritual associations are based on the specific mineral subtype, which include clear, blue, green, orange, honey, pink, red, stellar beam, and merkabite calcites. Chemically, its formula is CaCO₃.
