Obsidian
Obsidian is a naturally occurring volcanic glass, usually black or dark brown, known for its smooth, glassy texture and conchoidal fracture. It belongs to the mineraloid group (lacking a crystalline structure) and forms when felsic lava cools rapidly with minimal crystal growth. Spiritually, it is often associated with protection, truth-revealing, and grounding. Chemically, its approximate composition is SiO₂ with minor amounts of magnesium and iron oxides.
